A new monument for Lincoln City
A 200 year old Beech tree had to be partially cut down due to a fungal infestation growing on some parts of the tree. Touched by the owners sadness to loose such an enormous old tree from her garden the concept of a tree sculpture was born. I carefully designed the shape of this sculpture by cutting away all of the bad parts affected by Fungus to leave a solid dry structure which then received a 5* protective treatment along with a few coats of Danish Oil to further it’s protection against the elements.
The Sculpture has been named ‘Rooted Love’ due to the tree still being alive at the bottom roots but no longer in the structure of the sculpture, therefore in time new shoots may appear and grow up from the base and form a braid with it’s new branches around the 7 metre high figures. Lincoln City got a new monument to admire.
